2011 Focus
Art Forms and The Way They Overlap
“Who put the chocolate in my peanut butter?”
Vivace String Camp 2011 continue their long term focus on the tandem relationships of all art forms, those of discipline, consistent practice, and the importance of level development. All art forms share gesture by way of momentum to create fluid movements, and therefore, express. Art form relationships that will be developed this year are :
String Playing/Sound Making and Choreography
String Playing/Sound Making and Watercolor
String Playing/Sound Making and Photography
String Playing/Sound Making and Kung Fu and Tai Chi
As camp founder and director, musician, mother and grandmother, I intend to develop the awareness in young learners that all the areas of life that we put passion into, and where we must season a skill by devoted practice, share avenues of access and parallels in demonstration. For string players “practicing” equals experience and investment. This is true in every form in which we wish to express ourselves artistically. By harnessing this understanding we create a greater potential for the student camper to realize their deepest passionate artistic drives and manifest them.
Vivace String Camp seeks to access its’ camper’s interest in developing whatever area of art is most attractive to their passionate self, and demonstrate the pathway, shared by all, to that end.
